Amy Cesal’s passion for data visualization led her to co-found the Data Visualization Society, where she also serves as a board member. As a MICA graduate, Amy has pioneered the use of data visualization style guides, often writing and speaking on the topic. She is also a three-time recipient of the Information is Beautiful award for her innovative and unusual data visualization work. Currently, she is the Senior Design Director of Data Visualization for Morning Consult, a global decision intelligence company.
As a data visualization and insight generation leader, Adam has over twenty years of experience visualizing data for associations, government agencies, corporations, and non-profit organizations. Currently working as the Analytics Lead for the National Library of Medicine, Adam manages a team of developers and analysts to enhance the customer experience, and advance data visualization and practices for the nation’s leading medical library. Adam is also a member of the Society for American Baseball Research and the Data Visualization Society.
Dr. Tracy Sanders currently works as a Human Factors Engineer with MITRE. This not-for-profit organization works for the public interest tackling the nation’s toughest challenges and creating lasting impact in cybersecurity, healthcare, aviation, defense, and enterprise transformation. Dr. Sanders’ research interests include user-centered design, human-automation interaction, and artificial intelligence. As an astute researcher, she has co-authored numerous articles in various publications, such as the International Journal of Social Robotics, Frontiers in Robotics and AI, and Human Factors, among others.
Amanda Makulec is a health data visualization designer, teacher, and speaker based in Washington DC. She has worked with global health programs, community organizations, private sector corporations, and federal agencies to design and teach others how to create effective data visualizations, with a focus on visualizing data responsibly. Amanda currently serves as the Executive Director of the global Data Visualization Society and holds a BA in Zoology and Sociology from Miami University and an MPH from Boston University School of Public Health.
Lauren Gibbons is a product and experience designer specializing in data visualization. She is currently a Lead Product Designer at LiveRamp, building a system to enable Data Scientists to find insight in collaborative datasets. Previously, Lauren explored data visualization integrated within the physical space, including media walls and data sculptures. Lauren holds a Masters of Fine Arts in Design + Technology from Parsons School of Design.
Andy Moore is a designer who focuses on aligning an organization’s business efforts with their goals for social and environmental responsibility. Andy leverages a wide variety of strategies including human-centered design principles, creative facilitation, illustration, and biomimicry to make deeper connections with clients and communities that reach beyond the traditional boundaries of design. He teaches the following courses: Visual Storytelling II, Sustainability & Social Responsiveness.
As a long-time UX professional, Lacey is a seasoned design generalist and subject matter expert in accessibility and design for all individuals. Her deep expertise in facilitation and problem space research makes her well-suited to help teams align, tackle difficult tasks, and solve complex problems. Lacey currently works in the edtech space as the Senior Manager of Experience Design at Ellucian, a software and services provider for higher education institutions.
A leader in design research and strategy, Meghan has lent her talents and subject matter expertise to organizations such as AstraZeneca and Capital One and to agencies across the U.S. federal government. As a Fulbright Scholar recipient, Meghan had the distinct honor of teaching and researching at the Estonian Academy of Arts in Tallinn. Currently, she is the Service Design Lead at CenterWell Senior Primary Care, where she is responsible for designing, prototyping, and testing new patient experiences.
With over two decades of experience spanning digital services and industries, Santosh is a performance-driven product design leader who has delivered solutions for many Fortune 500 brands including Marriott, Macy’s, and GE. His expertise is regularly sought out for professional speaking engagements and workshops where he presents on topics in marketing and design strategy, UX design, human experience design, and service design, among others. A MICA graduate, Santosh currently works as the Director of Enterprise Product Experience Design for Macy’s.

William Verbist is a product and experience design leader who uses his love of technology and passion for design to investigate, innovate and deliver digital experiences.
Bonnie Crockett is the Director of Small Business Lending for the Baltimore Community Lending, a nonprofit Community Development Financial Institution, where she provides access to capital to underserved and low-wealth entrepreneurs to help start and expand their businesses. Since receiving her J.D. from the University of Baltimore in 1993, Bonnie’s career has ranged from General Counsel of a federal savings bank to Executive Director of a nonprofit economic development corporation.
Brandon Ball is a Service Designer who provides creative problem-solving and innovation strategies to clients. He lives and breathes design, combining his passion for the arts with business acumen. A multidisciplinary thinker, Brandon earned a BS in Industrial and Systems Engineering from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (AGGIE PRIDE!), an MA in Design Leadership from Maryland Institute College of Art, and an MBA from Johns Hopkins.
Dania is a trilingual entrepreneur who has lived and worked on four continents. In 2012, she cofounded Base Three Studio, a visual communications firm based in Washington DC. As managing partner, she oversees new business and manages the vision for the studio’s accounts. Dania has 20 years of experience in graphic design and has worked in local design studios in Washington, DC as well as global advertising agencies in Cairo and Riyadh. She holds a B.A. in Graphic Design from the American University of Beirut and an M.A. in The Business of Art and Design from Maryland Institute College of Art.
